I was delighted to see this baby greenfinch being fed ,if I am right by his dad.Caught a funny angle in the shot below
Am I right in thinking this is a baby goldie because of the lack of red on its face?
and a nice pic amongst the bushes of mum and baby

Tis indeed dad Greenfinch! Nice photo. The goldfinch is an adult though, it's red face is just wet, and hidden. :-)
Great photos again! Love the baby greenfinch, what a cutie! I've noticed my goldfinches do vary a bit in the brightness of their plumage, I think it looks duller when wet too.
Thanks for your comments and back to the drawing board with the goldies.,maybe one day eh!!!

Great pictures again, Sheila.
I agree with Mac about goldfinches, I've had some that look brand new they are so bright.
Lovely set of pictures Sheila:-) I love the pictures of the Greenfinch feeding its young. The Goldfinch is an Adult. The juveniles not only lack the red face but the black marking around the head as well. The only thing that a young Goldfinch has that that gives you an indication that it is a Goldfinch is the markings on the wings.
thanks once again for sharing my pics.I feel so blessed with not only my garden(the hard work from a derelict site kept me sane and was my therapy when I lost my son so is very special to me)but my delightful visitors. What has made it more special is sharing it with all you lovely people.Thank you
Sheila

Karen thanks for your kindness,10yrs on and thankfully the loss, although still as deep,is not as painful. He will always be remembered not only in my garden but my house is also called "PAULSVIEW" in his memory.A true saying something good comes out of something bad.
