As it was on the far bank of the river this was the best shot of the kingfisher I could manage.It was beautiful watching it flashing along the river.Was also delighted to see the nuthatch,a GSW,great tits ,blue tits and a chaffinch on the feeders that we put up on Monday at Dilston.I have also had confirmation from the Bat conservation that it was a Daubentons bat we saw on Monday as it is the only one that skims the water.

Absolutely lovely pics sheila. Would LOVE to see a kingfisher! is the other one a nuthatch? something else ive never seen!Its great that you saw a bat too, i think theyre wonderful x

I've seen a kingfisher once, it zipped by my car as I was eating lunch in a turn-out in a state park...great that you got any photo at all, hooray I say!

thanks Warren had to look up the bat never heard of it before
Karen,yes its a nuthatch never had one in my garden although seen them in bird hides I visit
Lynmiranda was delighted with the kingfisher and so pleased the feeders are attracting birds for others to enjoy
Thanks Jann are your kingfishers same as ours as I notice a lot of birds ,ie. the robin are different
