I am no good whatsoever at identifying different bees etc,but this is what I would call a bumble bee and WHAT a big one it was

From what I can see Sheila, your bee looks like the Buff-tailed Bumblebee. I am only just getting to grips in the identification of the bees, they are not easy.

Hi Sheila. Nice photo's.Funny enough, I also had a juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker on my feeders today.
